Research Coordinator

Dr. Mehret Birru Talabi is hiring a Research Study Coordinator. Dr. Birru Talabi's research team, situated in the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, strives to help people with autoimmune diseases to have healthier lives, pregnancies, and families. This position will coordinate across projects; development and implementation of systems for project management; coordinate processes for each project, including recruitment, data collection, and payment structures; communicate with staff members and collaborators; develop study protocols; prepare and submit IRB applications; prepare and submit NIH progress reports; participate with recruitment as needed; prepare manuscripts and abstracts for submission; maintain recruitment lists; and coordinate patient engagement. This position is hybrid and may include some cross-campus travel each week for patient recruitment and research activities.

Student Opportunities

The Pitt Public Health Undergraduate Scholars Program (PHUSP) is an eight-week residential program designed to encourage historically underserved college students to consider careers in public health. The program focuses on maternal and child health, environmental justice, and climate and health. 

The Health Sciences Diversity Research (HSDR) Scholars Program provides opportunities for individuals who have completed an undergraduate degree and are committed to a career in biomedical, health-related research. 

The Office of Science Education Outreach invites high school and undergraduate college students to discover new opportunities by working to assist on research projects. Students will explore the tasks of scientific process to gain an understanding of research. By establishing a mentor-mentee relationship, students can advance their educational goals.
