Innovations in Breastfeeding/Lactation Support

Dr. Demirci's research team investigates barriers to parents meeting their lactation goals and develops and tests mHealth and technology-based lactation support interventions. Recent trials have investigated the feasibility and efficacy of telelactation and text message (SMS) -based support. We also have projects and collaborations aimed at developing enhanced lactation education for health professionals and building equitable lactation support in the community.
