Dana Loll, PhD, MHS, is a CONVERGE co-investigator and the Project Director for the PA Catalyst project, which aims to advance equitable and sustainable access to contraception and abortion care across the state of Pennsylvania through the generation and dissemination of evidence and engagement with community-based partners and advocates. Her research focuses on advancing access to reproductive health services and ensuring client autonomy in choosing whether to use these services and which services to use.
Prior to joining CONVERGE, Dr. Loll worked in the global sexual and reproductive health and rights space, where she led research in Togo, Cameroon, Tanzania, Mauritania, and Malawi (among others) to inform the development of culturally competent communication programs with the aim of improving access to high quality reproductive health services. She has also led rigorous mixed methods research to understand the local context including a multi-level evaluation of a program to improve quality of FP care in Tanzania, assessing national SRH strategies in West Africa, and understanding the social determinants of reproductive autonomy in Ghana. Her approach, whether implemented in Blantyre, Malawi or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, emphasizes participatory methods, capacity sharing, and collaborative partnership with the aim of ensuring that reproductive health research and programs are responsive, equitable, and impactful.
